Yes, we as teacher focus on preparing our students to do the very best possible, but are we taking them beyond the Standardized Test? In today’s economical situation with unemployment on the rise and world economy struggling, we need to help our students understand this changing environment, and how they can survive. There is no magic wand for this assignment, but being informed is the best defense.

Black History month is celebrated during February. It is a time to remember and reflect on our past, present, and future. To help you integrate this topic into your lesson plans, here are some sites and activities. Enjoy!

Tuesday, Jan. 20, 2009 is an historical date that every child in the United Sates of America should witness.  Please make sure your students have the opportunity to watch the 2009 Inauguration Swearing-In Ceremony!

Theme: “Renewing America’s Promise”; The full program will include:
- Musical Selections: The United States Marine Band, followed by the San Francisco Boys Chorus and the San Francisco Girls Chorus
- Call to Order and Welcoming Remarks: Sen. Dianne Feinstein
- Invocation: Dr. Rick Warren

- Vice President-elect Joe Biden will be sworn into office by Associate Justice of the Supreme Court John Paul Stevens
